We built the Bronte Harbour Classic for the Oakville running community. On June 21, 2026, that community gets a race worthy of the city it calls home.
We are proud to announce that Mercedes-Benz Oakville has joined as the Official Title Sponsor of the Bronte Harbour Classic 5K. Effective immediately, the event’s official name is:
Mercedes-Benz Oakville Bronte Harbour Classic 5K
This isn’t just a name change. It’s a signal — to runners, to local businesses, to the Bronte neighbourhood — that what we’re building here is real, and it’s built to last.
A Partnership Built on Community
The Bronte Harbour Classic was created by the Bronte Runners Club and TapeGeeks — two organizations that are rooted in this community, not visiting it. Charles Sathmary and Greg Kowalczyk have run these streets. They know this harbour. They started this race because Oakville deserved one.
When we approached Mercedes-Benz Oakville, we weren’t pitching a marketing opportunity. We were inviting a neighbour to help build something together.
Bronte Heritage Waterfront Park sits less than three kilometres from the Mercedes-Benz Oakville dealership at 300 South Service Road West. On June 21, 800 runners and their families will fill the harbour, the streets of Bronte, and the post-race festival grounds. Local vendors will line the waterfront. Kids will cross their first finish line. Dads will run side by side with their families on Father’s Day.
That’s not a race. That’s a community event that happens to have a race at the centre of it.
Mercedes-Benz Oakville understood that immediately. Their commitment reflects what this event is actually about — bringing people together in a place they love, and giving the Bronte village and the broader Oakville community a reason to celebrate together every June.
Why This Partnership Matters Beyond Race Day
There’s a version of this story that’s just about a title sponsorship. A logo on a banner, a line in a press release.
That’s not this story.
Oakville has a thriving running community — the Bronte Runners Club alone has hundreds of members who train along these same waterfront paths week after week. What it hasn’t had, until now, is a flagship event: a professionally organized, well-funded, genuinely competitive race that the whole city can rally around every Father’s Day weekend.
The Mercedes-Benz Oakville Bronte Harbour Classic 5K is that event. And the partnership with Mercedes-Benz Oakville is what makes it sustainable — not just for 2026, but for the years that follow.
When a business of Mercedes-Benz Oakville’s stature backs an inaugural community event, it sends a message to every other potential partner, every runner on the fence, every vendor considering the expo, every local business thinking about sponsorship: this is worth investing in. This is going somewhere.
That credibility matters enormously in year one. We’re not just trying to run a great race on June 21. We’re trying to establish a tradition — the kind of Father’s Day event that Oakville talks about all year, that runners put on their calendar every January, that families plan their summer around.
Good for the Neighbourhood. Good for Local Business.
The Bronte village is one of the most charming corners of Oakville — a working harbour, independent restaurants, boutique shops, and waterfront parks all within a few blocks of each other.
On race morning, 800 runners and 2,000+ spectators will pour into that neighbourhood. They’ll arrive early, stay late, and spend money. Bronte’s coffee shops and breakfast spots will be packed. Families will browse the vendor expo after the race. The post-race festival will keep people at the harbour well into the afternoon.
We’ve deliberately designed this event to be good for the Bronte community — not just to use it as a backdrop. The Bronte BIA is a proud partner of this race. Local vendors have priority access to the expo. The Oakville Dads Community Fund is our supported charity, with donations encouraged at registration.
A great race should make the neighbourhood around it stronger. That’s what we’re building on June 21 — and every June 21 after that.
What the Partnership Looks Like on Race Day
Mercedes-Benz Oakville’s involvement isn’t just a logo on a banner. Here’s what runners and spectators will see on June 21:
A Mercedes-Benz pace car leads the field at race start. The three-pointed star sends 800 runners onto the course. That’s a moment — and a photograph worth keeping.
A vehicle display at the post-race festival. Four to five Mercedes-Benz Oakville vehicles will be open for the public to explore throughout the morning, with dealership staff on-site in the heart of the action at Bronte Heritage Waterfront Park.
Bib pickup at the Mercedes-Benz Oakville dealership. The day before the race, registered runners can collect their race kits at 300 South Service Road West — a first-class pre-race experience at a world-class facility, and a chance to see the dealership that’s making this race possible.
About Mercedes-Benz Oakville
Mercedes-Benz Oakville is one of Ontario’s premier automotive dealerships, located in the heart of the Oakville community. They carry the full Mercedes-Benz lineup — performance AMG models, the EQ electric range, and everything in between — and have built a reputation for the kind of client experience that reflects the brand’s standard of excellence.
That standard is a direct match for what the Bronte Harbour Classic is trying to deliver. A professional event on a world-class course, backed by sponsors who take quality seriously. Mercedes-Benz Oakville saw what we were building and chose to be part of it from the ground floor.
We are proud to have them at the start line.
