The 2027 Mercedes-Benz Oakville Bronte Harbour Classic is on Sunday, June 20, 2027 -- Father's Day -- at Bronte Heritage Waterfront Park, 2340 Ontario Street, Oakville, Ontario. The Speak Squad Kids 1K Fun Run starts at 8:00 AM and both the 5K and the 10K start at 8:30 AM. The Father's Day Waterfront Festival runs from 8:00 AM to 3:00 PM and is free for everyone to attend.

Three. A chip-timed 5K that you can run or walk, a chip-timed 10K that is run only (no walkers), and the Speak Squad Kids 1K Fun Run for children ages 2-12. The 10K is new this year. The Speak Squad Kids 1K is not timed -- every participant receives a finisher medal.

There are three races. The Speak Squad Kids 1K Fun Run starts at 8:00 AM. The 5K and the 10K both start at 8:30 AM. We recommend arriving by 7:00 AM if you are running the 5K or 10K — and no later than 7:45 AM if you are running the Kids 1K — to allow time for parking, bib pickup, and warm-up. Race kit pickup (bib + timing chip) will be available on race morning at Bronte Heritage Waterfront Park, and we expect to offer earlier pickup windows in the days before the race as well. Pickup dates, times, and locations will be confirmed closer to race day and emailed to every registrant.

Yes! The course is entirely flat, smooth, and paved along the Bronte Harbour waterfront. It is fully stroller-friendly and accessible for runners of all abilities.

There is no minimum age for the 5K. Runners under 18 must have a parent or guardian sign their waiver during registration. Children under 12 are welcome to run the 5K but must be accompanied by a registered adult. The 10K is a run-only event and the same waiver rules apply for participants under 18. The Speak Squad Kids 1K Fun Run is designed for ages 2–12.

Absolutely — walkers are welcome and encouraged in the 5K. The Bronte Harbour Classic is a community event for all fitness levels. The course is flat, paved, and fully accessible, and there is no minimum pace requirement for the 5K. Please note the 10K is a run-only event and is not open to walkers; if you plan to walk, the 5K is your race.

The official 5K course closes 1 hour and 15 minutes after the 8:30 AM start gun (9:45 AM). Most walkers complete a 5K well within this window. Water station and finish line support are available throughout. The cutoff for the 10K will be confirmed and published closer to race day.

Dogs are not permitted on the race course during the 5K or the 10K for the safety of all participants. Well-behaved leashed dogs are welcome at the post-race festival area in the park.

Yes. The 5K has a water station at the 2.5 km turnaround point, and the 10K course has additional stations along the route. Water is also available at the finish line. The race is run in the morning when temperatures are cooler, but we recommend arriving hydrated. Exact water station locations for both courses will be confirmed closer to race day.

Yes, headphones are permitted for both the 5K and the 10K. We recommend using only one earbud or bone-conduction headphones so you can hear course marshals, announcements, and other runners around you. Safety on course always comes first.

Your race bib includes a built-in timing chip. Simply wear your bib on the front of your shirt — no separate chip to attach. Your time starts when you cross the start mat and stops when you cross the finish mat, giving you a true net time regardless of where you line up at the start.

Oakville does not host a full 42.2 km marathon. The longest road race in town is the Oakville 21.1 Half Marathon, which also offers a 10K and a 5K. On Father's Day, Sunday June 20, 2027, the Mercedes-Benz Oakville Bronte Harbour Classic runs a 10K, a 5K, and the Speak Squad Kids 1K Fun Run on the Bronte waterfront -- so the 10K is our longest distance. Plenty of local runners do both races in the same year.

The 10K route is not published yet. The course still requires approval from the Town of Oakville, and we would rather show you nothing than publish a map that changes. What is confirmed: the 10K is chip-timed, starts at 8:30 AM, and both starts and finishes at Bronte Heritage Waterfront Park on a flat waterfront course. The full route and map go up here as soon as the Town signs off.

The 10K cut-off has not been set yet. It depends on the course route and the road closure schedule, both of which need approval from the Town of Oakville, so we will confirm it here at the same time we publish the 10K map. For reference, the 5K course closes at 9:45 AM, 1 hour and 15 minutes after its start. The 10K is run only -- walkers should register for the 5K.

A full refund is available up to 30 days before race day (May 21, 2027). After that date registrations are non-refundable. You may transfer your registration to another person up to 7 days before race day (June 13, 2027) through your Race Roster account, or by contacting us at greg@tapegeeks.com. If you can no longer make it but still want the medal and shirt, you can switch your entry to the virtual race up to May 30, 2027 instead of cancelling — email greg@tapegeeks.com. Deferrals to a future year are not available. If the event is cancelled by the organizers, full refunds will be issued.

Every registered runner receives professional chip timing with instant results, a finisher medal, access to the post-race Father's Day Waterfront Festival, and the option to add a race shirt or an exclusive Bronte Runners/GearTOP hat during registration.

No — all entries must be completed online in advance, and there is no registration desk on race morning. Registration closes on Tuesday, June 16, 2027 so we can finalise bibs, timing, and shirt counts. The good news is that registration is open right now on Race Roster for all three distances: the 5K, the new 10K, and the Speak Squad Kids 1K Fun Run — and the earlier you register the lower the price. Our first year sold out, so register early. If you miss the deadline you are still welcome to come cheer and enjoy the free Father's Day Waterfront Festival, which is open to the public.

Entry prices rise through five published tiers as race day approaches. The 5K and 10K run from $62.15 at the opening Premier tier up to $94.83 in the spring, and the Speak Squad Kids 1K is $40.37 at Premier and $51.26 after that. All amounts are in Canadian dollars and include Race Roster processing fees; applicable tax is added at the final checkout step. The tier that is live today, and its closing date, are always shown on the registration page.

A race shirt and an exclusive Bronte Runners/GearTOP hat are available as optional add-ons during registration on Race Roster. Shirt orders close on June 1, 2027 — after that date late registrants receive a GearTOP hat instead of a race shirt. If you need to change your size, contact us at greg@tapegeeks.com before June 1, 2027. Sizes are not guaranteed after that date.

The 2026 inaugural race sold out at 875 registrations. For 2027 the field cap is larger and a second distance has been added, so we cannot promise it sells out -- but we also cannot promise a spot will be there in May. Entry prices rise on a published schedule as race day approaches, so registering during an early tier costs less and removes the risk either way.

The virtual entry — Run It Anywhere — is for people who can't be in Oakville on race day. You run your 5K or 10K anywhere in Canada between June 14 and 27, 2027, submit your finish time, and receive the same finisher medal that every on-course runner gets, plus your choice of race shirt or GearTOP hat, a personalized digital finisher certificate, and your name on the 2027 virtual results. It's $89.00 flat — one price all year, with shipping anywhere in Canada included. Entries are limited to 100, and virtual registration opens January 1, 2027 and closes June 16, 2027.

We ship within Canada only — cross-border shipping means customs forms, duty and brokerage fees landing on you, so we don't do it. If you're outside Canada, a friend or family member here can receive the kit on your behalf. Kits go out in one batch the week of June 28, 2027, after the run window closes, so everyone who took part is mailed at the same time. If you're local you can skip the mail entirely and collect your kit at the Runner's Den Burlington pickup on Friday, June 18, 2027 — choose that option during registration.

Yes — up to May 30, 2027. Rather than cancelling, you can move your entry to the virtual race and still receive the finisher medal, your shirt or hat, and your name in the results. Email greg@tapegeeks.com and we'll take care of it. After May 30 the kit order is locked and we can no longer switch you; the standard refund and transfer policy applies instead.

Free limited parking is available at Bronte Heritage Waterfront Park, a short walk from the start/finish area. All street parking in the surrounding Bronte neighbourhood is free on Sundays — arrive by 7:00 AM for best availability. Please do not park in private lots such as commercial plazas or the Farm Boy grocery parking area. Additional parking locations will be shared closer to race day. The Bronte GO Station is approximately 1.5 km from the start.

Bib and timing chip pickup will be available on race morning at Bronte Heritage Waterfront Park, and we plan to offer earlier pickup windows in the days leading up to the race so you can skip the race-morning lineup. Pickup dates, times, and host locations are being finalized and will be published here and emailed to every registrant well before race day. Please bring your registration confirmation (printed or on your phone).

A bag check area will be available near the start/finish area. Drop off your gear before the race and collect it once you finish. Details on the exact location will be included in your pre-race email.

Yes. Permanent washroom facilities are available at Bronte Heritage Waterfront Park. Additional portable washrooms (porta-potties) will be placed near the start/finish line and at the turnaround point. We recommend arriving early to avoid lineups before the race start.

The Bronte Harbour Classic runs rain or shine. In the event of severe weather (lightning, extreme heat advisory, or unsafe conditions), race organizers reserve the right to delay or modify the event. Registered participants will be notified by email and through our social media channels. No refunds are issued for weather-related decisions.

Yes. Oakville Transit serves the Bronte area. The Bronte GO Station is approximately 1.5 km from Bronte Heritage Waterfront Park — an easy warm-up walk. Check oakvilletransit.ca for Sunday schedules and route information.

Yes. Trained first aid volunteers and medical personnel will be stationed at the start/finish area and along the course. There will also be a physiotherapy and recovery tent at the festival grounds after the race. If you have a medical condition, please note it on your registration form.

The following streets are fully closed on the morning of Sunday, June 20: East Street (Marine Drive to Ontario Street), Nelson Street (Marine Drive to Ontario Street), Jones Street (Marine Drive to Ontario Street), Bronte Road (Marine Drive to Ontario Street), and Ontario Street (East Street to Bronte Road). These closures form the start/finish area around Bronte Heritage Waterfront Park. On the race route itself, the northbound lane of Marine Drive (East Street to Third Line) and the northbound lane of Lakeshore Road West (Third Line to Woodhaven Park Drive) are coned off for runners, with one lane of vehicle traffic remaining open in each direction. The 10K route is new this year and the full closure plan is being confirmed with the Town of Oakville — final details will be published here before race day.

Hard closures around the start/finish area go in first from 6:45 AM, and the runner lanes on Marine Drive and Lakeshore Road West are coned off shortly before the 8:30 AM 5K and 10K start. As the race progresses, signage is removed behind the last runner, working back westward from the Coronation Park turnaround toward the finish. Because the 10K is new this year, the final closure end time is being confirmed with the Town of Oakville and will be published here before race day.

Residents and businesses within the hard-closure zone (around Ontario Street and the cross streets between Marine Drive and Ontario Street) will have limited access from 6:45 AM until the course reopens. Traffic control personnel will be stationed at key intersections and can assist with local access where safely possible. On Marine Drive and Lakeshore Road West, one lane of traffic remains open throughout the race. Because the 10K is new this year, the final reopening time is being confirmed with the Town of Oakville and will be published here before race day.

The Bronte Harbour Classic proudly supports the Oakville Dads Community Fund, held at the Oakville Community Foundation. During registration you can add a donation of any amount, and all donations collected go to Oakville Dads -- supporting local families and community programs right here in Oakville. You can also give at any time through the fund's page, and you do not need to register for the race to donate.

The Father's Day Waterfront Festival runs from 8:00 AM to 3:00 PM at Bronte Heritage Waterfront Park. It features live music, food trucks, a kids zone with inflatables and face painting, a beer garden, vendor booths, physiotherapy and recovery stations, and award presentations. Key times: festival grounds open at 8:00 AM, the kids' play area and jumping castle open at 9:00 AM, the beer garden and live music begin at 10:30 AM, and the festival wraps up at 3:00 PM. Award presentation times will be confirmed once the race schedule is finalized. Festival access is included with every race registration and is open to the public.

Results are chip-timed and posted online in real time at Race Roster. You will receive your official finish time, overall place, and age group place within minutes of crossing the finish line. A link to the results page will be included in your pre-race email.

Age group awards are presented for the following categories: 19 & under, 20–24, 25–29, 30–34, 35–39, 40–44, 45–49, 50–54, 55–59, 60–64, 65–69, and 70+. Categories are split by male and female. The Masters Overall prize (top male and top female finisher aged 35+) is awarded separately.

The prize structure for this year's race has not been announced yet. We expect to award prizes across the overall and Masters categories in both the 5K and the 10K, including pairs of ON Running performance shoes, and we will publish the full details here and email every registrant as soon as they are confirmed.

Log in to your Race Roster account any time during the June 14–27, 2027 window and submit your finish time on the event's virtual results page. It's the honour system — no GPS file or screenshot is required, though you're welcome to attach one. You can also connect the ASICS Runkeeper app and have your result post automatically. As soon as you submit, you get a personalized finisher certificate with your name, distance and time.

No. Virtual times are self-reported and are published on their own separate results set — they are never merged into the chip-timed field and don't appear in the overall or age-group standings. Virtual entries are not eligible for the cash awards, the ON Running shoe prizes, or any age-category placing. Those belong to the runners who are timed on the course at Bronte Heritage Waterfront Park. We also can't hand out bibs, shirts or medals to virtual entrants at the festival or on race morning — virtual kits are mailed, or collected at the scheduled Friday, June 18 pickup.

All street parking in the Bronte area is free on Sundays. We recommend arriving by 7:00 AM for the best availability. Free limited parking is available at Bronte Heritage Waterfront Park, a short walk from the start/finish. Additional nearby street parking is available — please do not park in private lots such as commercial plazas or the Farm Boy grocery area. We will share additional parking locations closer to race day. The Bronte GO Station is approximately 1.5 km away if you prefer to take transit.
