Here is everything you need to know about getting to the race.
Free Parking Near Bronte Harbour Park
Several free parking areas are available within walking distance of the start/finish line:
- Bronte Heritage Waterfront Park parking lot — The closest lot to the race venue. Spaces fill up fast, so arrive by 7:00 AM to secure a spot.
- Bronte Beach Park parking lot — A short walk south along the waterfront trail. Great option for families who want to explore the beach after the race.
- Municipal lots on Bronte Road — Free on weekends. Located just north of Lakeshore Road, a 3-5 minute walk to the start line.
Street Parking on Residential Streets
Free street parking is available on residential streets surrounding Bronte Harbour Park, including areas along Jones Street, Nelson Street, and East Street. Street parking is first-come, first-served, so arriving early is strongly recommended — ideally before 7:15 AM.
Please be respectful of residents. Do not block driveways or park on lawns.
Overflow Parking: Bronte GO Station
If the closer lots are full, the Bronte GO Station parking lot is an excellent overflow option. It is free on weekends and offers plenty of spaces. The walk from the GO station to Bronte Harbour Park takes approximately 5 minutes along a paved route.
Address: 2102 Lakeshore Rd W, Oakville, ON
Important: Ontario Street Closure
Ontario Street will be closed for the race course. Do not plan to park on or access the venue via Ontario Street. Road closures begin at approximately 6:30 AM and will remain in effect until the course reopens after the final runner finishes. View the full course map →
Drop-Off Zone
A designated drop-off zone will be available near the race entrance for those being dropped off by family or rideshare. Look for volunteer marshals directing traffic. After dropping off runners, drivers should proceed to one of the parking areas listed above.
Carpooling Encouraged
We strongly encourage participants to carpool with fellow runners. Coordinate with your running group, neighbours, or teammates to reduce traffic congestion and your environmental footprint. The Bronte Harbour Classic is a community event — let’s start the morning by looking out for each other.

Frequently Asked Questions
Is there free parking at Bronte Harbour Park? Yes. Multiple free parking areas are available, including the Bronte Heritage Waterfront Park lot, Bronte Beach Park lot, and municipal lots on Bronte Road. Overflow parking is also available free of charge at the Bronte GO Station lot on weekends.
What time should I arrive on race day? We recommend arriving by 7:00 AM at the latest. Bib pickup opens at 7:00 AM and the 5K starts at 8:00 AM. Arriving by 7:00 AM gives you time to park, pick up your bib, warm up, and get to the start line without rushing.
Is Ontario Street closed for the race? Yes. Ontario Street will be closed starting at approximately 6:30 AM on race morning and will remain closed until all runners have finished the course. Do not plan to use Ontario Street for parking access or travel to the venue.
Can I take transit to the Bronte Harbour Classic? Yes. The Bronte GO Station (2102 Lakeshore Rd W) is approximately a 5-minute walk from the race venue and is serviced by GO Transit bus routes. Oakville Transit also has local routes along Lakeshore Road — check the schedule at oakvilletransit.ca for Sunday service times.
Where is the drop-off zone? A designated drop-off zone will be marked near the race entrance. Volunteer marshals will be on-site to direct traffic. Drivers dropping off runners should use this zone and then proceed to one of the listed parking areas.
Is there parking for festival-only attendees (non-runners)? Yes. The post-race waterfront festival is open to everyone, and the same free parking lots and street parking options are available for festival attendees. However, parking in closer lots may fill up earlier in the morning due to race participants. Arriving by 9:00 AM or later will still offer reasonable access once some runners depart.
