Welcome Global Citizen — Official Apparel Sponsor of the Bronte Harbour Classic

Every runner who crosses the finish line at the Bronte Harbour Classic will take something home beyond a finisher medal. They’ll take home a piece of the inaugural year — a race shirt from our Official Apparel Sponsor, Global Citizen.

We’re excited to announce that Global Citizen has joined the Bronte Harbour Classic as the Official Apparel Sponsor of the inaugural Bronte Harbour Classic 5K Race & Father’s Day Waterfront Festival, taking place Sunday, June 21, 2026 at Bronte Harbour Park, Oakville.

Who Is Global Citizen?

Global Citizen is a Canadian apparel brand built around quality athletic wear. Their products are designed to perform — not just look good in a race photo, but actually hold up through training runs, warm-ups, and everything else life throws at them.

As a Canadian brand, Global Citizen brings a natural alignment to a race rooted in community, family, and the kind of active lifestyle that defines so much of how Oakville lives. This isn’t a mass-market race shirt ordered from a catalogue. It’s a purposeful choice by a race organization that wanted its participants to walk away with something worth keeping.

What “Official Apparel Sponsor” Means in Practice

The Official Apparel Sponsor designation means Global Citizen is the exclusive provider of official Bronte Harbour Classic race apparel. Their name and branding will appear on race shirts, and their support helps make it possible to include a quality shirt as part of every 5K registration.

In practical terms, it means every registered 5K participant gets a Global Citizen race shirt included with their entry. No upcharges, no separate add-ons. If you’re registered for the 5K, you’re getting a shirt.

Why the Right Race Shirt Matters

Race shirts get a bad reputation. Most events hand out oversized cotton shirts that end up stuffed in a drawer or donated to a thrift store within a month. We set out to do something different.

A good race shirt is one you actually want to wear. It fits right, it breathes, and it reminds you of something you accomplished — not just a brand you’ve never heard of slapping a logo on generic fabric.

Global Citizen’s athletic shirts are built for movement. The fit is designed for active wear: not too tight, not boxy, structured enough to look sharp at the post-race festival and comfortable enough to run in if you want to warm up wearing it. This is a shirt you’ll pull out for training runs, for casual Sundays, for trips to the farmers market at Bronte Harbour in years to come.

More importantly, it’s a shirt that will mark a specific moment in time: the first year of a race that we intend to build into an Oakville institution.

First-Year Race Shirts Are Collectibles

There’s something that longtime runners understand and newcomers quickly learn: inaugural year race shirts are the most valuable ones in the drawer.

The Bronte Harbour Classic doesn’t exist yet as a tradition — it becomes one starting June 21, 2026. Five years from now, ten years from now, when this race is a fixture on the Oakville running calendar and hundreds of runners line up every Father’s Day, the people who were there for the very first one will know it. And they’ll have the shirt to prove it.

That’s the thing about first editions. They’re not just apparel. They’re documentation. The Global Citizen official race shirt is Exhibit A.

What Your Registration Includes

Every registered 5K participant receives:

  • Official race shirt courtesy of Global Citizen
  • RFID chip timing with instant results (powered by our chip timing partner)
  • Finisher medal — custom-designed for the inaugural race
  • Access to the post-race waterfront festival: live music, beer garden, 50+ vendors, kids zone

Runners also have the option of receiving a GearTOP hat instead of the race shirt at pickup — details on that option are available at the 5K race page.

Register Early — Shirt Sizes Are First Come, First Served

Race shirts are ordered based on registration data collected before a cutoff date. Registering early gives you the best shot at getting your preferred size. Late registrants run the risk of receiving whatever size is available.

If you care about your shirt size — and you should, because these are worth wearing — register before the size cutoff.

Pricing also increases as race day approaches. Registering now gets you the best rate and locks in your preferred shirt size. Visit the 5K race page for current pricing tiers.

A Canadian Brand at a Community Race

There’s something intentional about choosing a Canadian apparel brand as the Official Apparel Sponsor of a race in Oakville, Ontario. The Bronte Harbour Classic is a community event — organized by local running club leaders, backed by local sponsors, held on Oakville’s waterfront, supporting a local charity in the Oakville Dads Community Fund.

Global Citizen fits that ethos. Canadian-made identity, quality product, genuine athletic focus. We’re proud to have them on the team.
