Bronte BIA Is a Municipal Partner of the Bronte Harbour Classic

We’re proud to announce that the Bronte Business Improvement Area has joined the Bronte Harbour Classic as an Official Municipal Partner for the inaugural Bronte Harbour Classic 5K Race & Kids 1K Fun Run, taking place Sunday, June 21, 2026 at Bronte Harbour Park, Oakville.

We had the pleasure of meeting with Kylie Wilson, Executive Director of the Bronte BIA, to discuss how we can work together to make race day a success for runners, families, and the entire Bronte Village business community.

What Is the Bronte BIA?

The Bronte BIA — Business Improvement Area — is the organization that represents, promotes, and supports the local business community in Bronte Village. If you’ve visited the harbour, walked the main strip, or attended one of the village’s seasonal events, you’ve experienced their work.

BIAs in Ontario are mandated organizations that bring together local businesses under one voice. They market the area, coordinate community events, maintain public spaces, and build the kind of foot traffic that keeps independent, local businesses thriving. The Bronte BIA does all of this year-round for one of the most charming waterfront village districts in the Halton Region — the same area that will host the Bronte Harbour Classic on Father’s Day.

Why This Partnership Makes Sense

The Bronte Harbour Classic isn’t just a race held near Bronte Village — it’s a race built for it.

The course runs along the waterfront through Bronte Heritage Waterfront Park. The festival stretches across the harbour from 8:00 AM to 3:00 PM, with live music, 30–50 vendor booths, kids activities, and an awards ceremony — all open to the public. Hundreds of families from Oakville, Burlington, Mississauga, and beyond will spend a full Father’s Day in Bronte.

That kind of foot traffic on a summer Sunday is exactly what the BIA and its member businesses exist to support. Breakfast before the race. Coffee during the Kids 1K. Lunch after the finish line. An afternoon in the village. The Bronte Harbour Classic is designed as a full-day destination — and the Bronte BIA helps make sure local businesses are ready to welcome everyone who shows up.

How the Bronte BIA Is Supporting the Race

As an Official Municipal Partner, the Bronte BIA is supporting the Bronte Harbour Classic through their community channels — including their newsletter, website events calendar, social media, and direct outreach to member businesses about vendor and sponsorship opportunities.

They’re also helping connect the race with the broader Bronte community: local vendors, fitness businesses, restaurants, and residents who might not otherwise hear about the event until race day. That kind of community reach is something only a local organization like the BIA can provide.

A Race That Belongs to Bronte

One of our goals from the beginning has been to build a race that genuinely belongs to this village — organized by the people who run here every weekend, supported by the businesses and institutions that make Bronte what it is, and raising money for local families through the Oakville Dads Community Fund.

The Bronte BIA’s involvement is a direct expression of that. Kylie Wilson and her team are actively helping spread the word and connect us with the broader Bronte business community — because they see what this race can mean for the village long-term.

An Invitation to Every Bronte Business

If you’re a business in Bronte Village, this is your race too.

We’re inviting every local business to be part of June 21st — in whatever way makes sense for you. Set up a vendor booth in the expo and put your products in front of hundreds of active, local families. Come on board as a sponsor and get your name in front of the Bronte community all season long. Or simply open your doors, put out a sign, and welcome the runners and families who will be spending their Father’s Day in your neighbourhood.

There’s no wrong way to participate. The goal is a race day that’s good for everyone in Bronte — and that starts with the businesses that are here 365 days a year.
