Set up at the Father's Day Waterfront Festival vendor market on race day, sharing information on memberships, camps, and community programs.

The YMCA of Oakville has been at the heart of the town since 1956, when it started with an initial membership of about 150 people. Today this registered charity serves thousands of residents across Oakville and Halton through the Peter Gilgan Family YMCA — a full-service health, fitness, and aquatics facility — plus dozens of licensed child care locations, day camps, and community outreach programs.

A membership brings all-inclusive access to the wellness floor, indoor pools, gymnasium, and more than 60 weekly group fitness classes, along with early registration for the Y’s popular summer day camps. And because the YMCA of Oakville is a charity at its core, income-based financial assistance is available for both memberships and camp registration — each year it helps ensure that no one is denied access to a YMCA program or service.

At the 2026 Mercedes-Benz Oakville Bronte Harbour Classic 5K, the Y joined the Father’s Day Waterfront Festival vendor market — a natural presence at a community event built entirely around getting Oakville moving.

Why we love having them at the Classic

A community race and a community Y are natural teammates. The YMCA of Oakville has been getting our town moving since 1956 — and its promise that no one is denied access to a program for financial reasons is the same spirit we want at our start line.
