We’re proud to welcome Film.ca Cinemas as an Official Cinema Partner of the Mercedes-Benz Oakville Bronte Harbour Classic 5K.
This one is personal. It’s not a corporate sponsorship deal — it’s a group of Oakville neighbours deciding to line up behind the same community cause on the same day. That’s what’s happening here.
Jason Spears — Oakville Dads, Oakville Cinema Owner
Jason Spears owns Film.ca Cinemas, and he’s also an active member of Oakville Dads — the group behind the Oakville Dads Community Fund, our chosen charity for race day. When a partnership opportunity for the Bronte Harbour Classic came up, the alignment was already there. Same community. Same cause. Same people.
Film.ca is an independently owned Canadian theatre rooted in Oakville — the kind of local business where the owner knows the regulars and the community shows up for each other. For a lot of Oakville families, Film.ca is “going to the movies.” That kind of trust takes a long time to build. It’s also why this partnership carries real weight.
What the Partnership Looks Like at Film.ca Oakville
Starting this April, Film.ca is running three exclusive pre-show slides for the Bronte Harbour Classic before every movie, on every screen, at their Oakville location — running through June 21, 2026, race day itself.
The third slide carries a QR code that takes moviegoers directly to our Race Roster registration page. Scan, register, done. And every registered runner, every $10+ donation to Oakville Dads, and every volunteer is automatically entered into our AMG Weekend Loaner grand prize draw — courtesy of Mercedes-Benz Oakville, our Title Sponsor. It’s a direct invitation for the Oakville movie-going crowd to join a race day that’s lining up to be one of the biggest Father’s Day community events in the region.
Supporting the Oakville Dads Community Fund — Together
This is bigger than putting a race on a screen. Donations collected through registration and on race day go directly to the Oakville Dads Community Fund through the Oakville Community Foundation — supporting programs that strengthen fatherhood, family, and community in Oakville.
Jason being part of Oakville Dads means this isn’t a partnership on paper. It’s a partnership between people who are already in the same room on Tuesday nights. Film.ca’s cinema reach, the race’s start line, and Oakville Dads’ community work are pointing in the same direction: one community, raising together for the causes that strengthen families right here.
Building an Annual Tradition — Together
The Bronte Harbour Classic is an inaugural event in 2026. But we’re not building it as a one-off. We’re building it to become an annual Father’s Day tradition for Oakville — the kind of event that kids grow up running with their dads, then eventually take their own kids to, year after year.
Jason and Film.ca are part of that from day one. Every year the slides go up at the cinema. Every year the community comes together at Bronte Heritage Waterfront Park. Every year the Oakville Dads Community Fund grows stronger because a neighbourhood decided to show up for itself.
Year one is how it starts. But it’s not where it ends.
Thank You, Jason and the Film.ca Team
Partnerships like this one are what make inaugural events possible — and what turn them into traditions. Thank you to Jason Spears and the entire Film.ca team for backing this race from the start, and for the years ahead.
If you’re at the Film.ca Oakville theatre between now and June 21st — keep an eye on the pre-show. You’ll see us. And when you see that QR code, scan it. Sign up. Bring your dad, your kids, your neighbours. This is our race day.
