Thirty days.
That’s the gap between right now and the starting gun at Bronte Heritage Waterfront Park. Nearly 400 runners have already committed. The medal is cast. The prizes are set. The festival is coming together at the harbour.
If you’ve been on the fence, this is the moment to decide.
Here’s exactly what race day looks like.

The Medal
Every finisher earns one. No minimum pace. No qualifying standard. Finish the 5K on June 21 and you get the 2026 official finisher medal.
We had one rule when we designed it: it had to be specific to this place. Not a disc with a logo. Something you pick up in ten years and know exactly where you were.
What came back was an antique-silver cast medal with the Bronte lighthouse and marina sculpted in relief — the actual view from the festival grounds. The Mercedes-Benz star anchors the top. The AMG ribbon runs the lanyard.
The top three finishers in each category earn podium medals — gold, silver, and bronze — on top of the finisher piece. First place in this race gets hardware worth keeping.
The Prize Money
$1,600 in cash. Awarded on-site at the prize presentations starting around 9:30 AM and wrapping by 10:15 AM. Split evenly for men and women:
| Place | Men’s Open | Women’s Open |
|---|---|---|
| 1st | $450 | $450 |
| 2nd | $250 | $250 |
| 3rd | $100 | $100 |
Cash prizes at a community Ontario 5K are genuinely rare. Most local races offer a medal and a banana. We’re doing something different — because the runners who show up on race morning deserve to race for something real.
The ON Running Shoes
Eight pairs of ON Running performance footwear. Awarded to the top three men’s and women’s open finishers, plus the top masters (35+) man and woman.
ON Running is the Official Shoe Sponsor of the Bronte Harbour Classic. They’re the Swiss performance brand worn by road racers and trail runners who take their training seriously. If you’re chasing a podium spot, this is the prize that goes on your feet.

The Race Itself
Distance: 5K chip-timed
Start time: 8:30 AM
Location: Bronte Heritage Waterfront Park, Oakville, Ontario
Course: Waterfront loop — flat, fast, fully closed to traffic
Hydration: Natrilyte on-course water stations
Chip timing: Yes — your official finishing time, posted same day
Category: Open (all ages) + Masters (35+)
Time limit: 1 hour 15 minutes (roads reopen after)
The course runs through Bronte Heritage Waterfront Park and along the Oakville lakeshore. Flat. Scenic. The kind of course where you run a personal best because you forget you’re working.
You don’t have to run. Walkers are fully welcome — the course is open for 1 hour and 15 minutes before the roads need to reopen. Finish in your own time, collect your medal, and you’re already standing at one of the best spots in Oakville on one of the best mornings of the year.
The Festival
The race ends at the finish line. The day doesn’t.
The Father’s Day Waterfront Festival runs from 8:00 AM to 3:00 PM — free admission, no registration required. You don’t need to run a single step to enjoy it.
What’s there:
- Speak Squad Kids 1K Fun Run — 8:00 AM start on the festival grounds
- Beer garden — Nickelbrook Brewing Company, opens 10:30 AM, craft beer and RTDs on the harbour
- Fortinos refreshments — race finisher refreshments served by your Official Food Partner
- 4 food trucks — a full lineup of vendors across the expo grounds
- Bakeries — fresh baked goods on site
- Coffee — served throughout the expo for the morning crowd
- 50+ local vendors — artisan, wellness, running gear, lifestyle
- Live music on the waterfront stage — starts 10:30 AM
- Kids zone — opens ~9:30 AM, runs until 3:00 PM
- Mercedes-Benz Grand Prize Draw — 11:30 AM at the main stage (must be present to win)
Cross the finish line and you’re already there. The festival starts at the same park — no drive, no wait, no separate ticket. Fortinos is there with refreshments for race finishers the moment you cross. Then four food trucks, bakeries, and coffee are spread across the expo grounds all morning. Find a spot for the live music, watch the kids in the zone, walk the vendor booths and talk to people. Neighbours you see at the school or the trail end up at the same booth. That’s the day.
Families who aren’t racing can watch the finish line from the festival grounds, catch the prize presentations starting at 9:30 AM, and stay for the rest of the morning. There’s no better place to spend Father’s Day in Oakville.
The Charity
All donations collected at the Bronte Harbour Classic go to the Oakville Dads Community Fund — a local organization that supports Oakville families through sports, education, and community programming.
When you register, you’re not just entering a race. You’re part of something that comes back around to the community that’s running it.

The Kids 1K
Bring the kids. The Speak Squad Kids 1K Fun Run starts at 8:00 AM — a separate race for younger runners, run on the festival grounds, with their own finish line and finisher medal.
If your Father’s Day plan is a morning run followed by watching your kid cross a finish line, this is the day that delivers both.
Register your child for the Kids 1K.

Why Register Now
The price goes up as race day approaches. It’s already been going up. The runners who registered in January paid less than you’ll pay today — and less than you’ll pay in June.
Nearly 400 people have already committed their Sunday morning to this race. If you’re waiting for a reason to pull the trigger, you’re holding it.
Frequently Asked Questions
Is this race for competitive runners only?
No. The Bronte Harbour Classic is open to runners and walkers of all paces. Run it, walk it, do a mix — whatever gets you to the finish line. The cash prizes and ON Running shoes are for the podium, but the finisher medal, chip timing, and full festival access are for everyone who crosses the line. The one requirement: finish within the 1 hour 15 minute course limit before the roads reopen.
What does my registration include?
Your registration includes:
- Chip timing — your official finishing time, posted race day
- Official finisher medal — the antique-silver Bronte lighthouse piece, or the specially designed Kids 1K medal for young finishers
- Race T-shirt — a specially designed shirt for all 5K and Kids 1K participants, men’s and women’s cuts. T-shirts are guaranteed for registrations completed by May 31 — we need that cutoff to print the right quantities. Register after May 31 and we’ll do our best, but can’t guarantee your size.
- Swag bag — goodies from our sponsors and vendors. Mercedes-Benz Oakville is putting something special in every bag — you’ll find out when you pick up your bib.
- Natrilyte hydration on course
- Full festival access — free waterfront festival, 8 AM to 3 PM
- Race organization support on the day
Top finishers are eligible for cash prizes and ON Running shoes.
Is the Kids 1K a separate registration?
Yes. The Speak Squad Kids 1K Fun Run is registered separately through Race Roster. Register your child here.
Where should I park on race day?
Bronte Heritage Waterfront Park has several nearby lots. We recommend arriving early — the festival brings significant traffic. See the full parking guide.
What if it rains?
The race runs rain or shine. We’re on the lake — some of the best race photos happen in light rain. Dress appropriately and bring a dry change of clothes for the festival.
Where and when do I pick up my race bib?
There are three bib pickup windows:
- Friday, June 19 — Runner’s Den Burlington, Brant Street, Burlington. Pick up your bib, see the medals, and get ready for race weekend at one of Canada’s best independent running stores.
- Saturday, June 20 — Mercedes-Benz Oakville dealership, South Service Road. A first-class pre-race experience: collect your race kit including your swag bag, see the medals, and check out the pace car that leads the runners off the line Sunday morning.
- Race morning, June 21 — Bib pickup opens at 6:30 AM at the venue for latecomers. Factor in 10–15 minutes if you’re picking up on race day. We recommend Saturday pickup to make Sunday morning smooth.
Can my family come to the festival without registering for the race?
Yes. The festival is free and open to everyone with no registration required. Spectators are welcome to watch the race from the festival grounds.
