Our first year sold out. All 875 spots, gone. So if you’re planning on 2027, the honest advice is to grab your spot now rather than in May.

The Oakville 10K is new for 2027
The Bronte Harbour Classic adds a 10K in 2027 — the first new distance since the race launched. It’s chip-timed and goes off at 8:30 AM alongside the 5K on June 20.
This was the request we heard most in 2026. From the finish line, from the festival grass, from our inbox all summer: love the race, when do we get a 10K?
One deliberate rule: the 10K is run only. No walkers, no strollers. That’s not us being precious — it’s so the 10K field stays clear of 5K walking pace on a shared waterfront corridor. If you want to walk it, the Oakville 5K is yours and always will be. Run or walk, chip-timed either way.
And here’s the honest part: we haven’t published the 10K route yet. The course still needs sign-off from the Town of Oakville, and we’d rather show you nothing than show you a map that changes. The moment it’s approved, it goes up.
The Kids 1K starts the morning, and the festival keeps it going
The Speak Squad Kids 1K Fun Run starts at 8:00 AM for ages 2 to 12. It isn’t timed, and every single finisher gets a medal. That part isn’t changing — it worked.
What we’re building on is what happens after the kids cross the line. In 2026 we shot 281 photos of the Kids 1K alone, and looking through them you can see the thing we got right and the thing we underbuilt. The running? Joyful. The two hours afterward, while a parent waited for the 5K awards? Thinner than it should have been.
So the Father’s Day Waterfront Festival is where a lot of the 2027 effort is going. It runs 8:00 AM to 3:00 PM at Bronte Heritage Waterfront Park, it’s free, and you don’t have to run a step to come. Kids zone open all day. Live music on the main stage from 10:30 AM through to close. Food, a beer garden for the grown-ups, and a vendor market spread across the park.
The plan for 2027 is more to do and more variety in who’s there — a wider mix of local vendors, more for kids between the finish line and the drive home. Think of it less as a race with a festival attached, and more as a Father’s Day morning on the Oakville waterfront that happens to start with a race.
Mercedes-Benz Oakville returns as title sponsor
Mercedes-Benz Oakville is back as title sponsor of the Bronte Harbour Classic for 2027. They backed this race when it was an idea with no finish line, and they’re in again for year two.
The full 2027 prize structure gets announced once it’s locked in, including how it splits across the 5K and the new 10K. In 2026 we put up a cash purse and prize shoes for our top finishers, and we have no intention of going backwards from there.
More of our 2026 partners are returning, and we’ll announce each one properly as they sign rather than posting a logo wall of maybes. What 2026 taught us, and what changes in 2027
The 2026 inaugural Bronte Harbour Classic sold out at 875 registrations on Father’s Day, June 21. We didn’t have to guess what worked — we had a full festival and a lot of people willing to tell us exactly what they thought.
What people loved, we’re keeping: the flat waterfront course, the 8:00 AM kids start, the free full-quality race photos searchable by bib number, and the medal QR code that opens your permanent 2026 archive.
What people asked for, we’re acting on: a 10K, more for families to do after the race, and more variety at the vendor market. Bigger, yes — but bigger in the ways people actually asked for, not just a larger number on a press release.

Run It Anywhere: the virtual entry
New for 2027, Run It Anywhere is a virtual entry for people who can’t get to Oakville. Run your distance any time between June 14 and 27, 2027, anywhere in Canada, and the same medal and shirt ship to you.
It’s capped at 100 entries and sits completely outside the on-course field, so a virtual entry never takes a spot from someone running the waterfront. Registration opens January 1, 2027 at $89. It’s honour-system rather than chip-timed, and virtual finishers aren’t eligible for age categories or prizes — with real awards on the line, we won’t tie those to an unverified time.
